Grades 6-8
Southfield Christian Middle School recognizes that middle school students are experiencing many developmental changes; as a result, the program seeks to address their unique spiritual, academic, artistic, physical and social needs. A nurturing environment integrates biblical principles in daily living and encourages a commitment to personal spiritual growth. A strong academic program provides the skills necessary to transition from the elementary to the high school. Opportunities are available for exposure to the fine arts in vocal and instrumental music as well as in the visual arts. Physical development is encouraged through education and sport practices that help to orient the students toward lifelong health. A wide variety of learning experiences and participation in activities assist in fulfilling each student’s developing interests.
Middle school students attend five core classes (Bible, math, science, language arts, and social studies) and two elective classes each day. Electives include art, band, strings, computer, graphic design, multimedia technology, physical education, robotics, vocal music, home economics, yearbook, French, and Spanish. Middle school students are also provided with a Chromebook for enhanced learning.
